New Release: El Caminante — A Rediscovered Opera by Eduardo Sánchez de Fuentes
I’m thrilled to announce the official release of El Caminante — a rediscovered Cuban opera by Eduardo Sánchez de Fuentes (1874–1944) — now available through Navona Records.
As the General Editor of this project, and with the honor of performing the lead role, this release marks one of the most meaningful milestones in my artistic and scholarly journey. El Caminante revives a long-forgotten jewel of Cuban operatic history, bringing Sánchez de Fuentes’ poignant music and dramatic vision back to life after nearly a century of silence.
This achievement would not have been possible without the extraordinary support and talent of the team at Boston University. I am deeply grateful to:
Dean Harvey Young, BU College of Fine Arts
William Lumpkin, Artistic Director, BU Opera Institute
Allison Voth, Principal Coach, BU Opera Institute
Oshin Gregorian, Managing Director, BU Opera Institute
Their leadership, encouragement, and dedication helped shape every part of this journey,
